What Are the Chances

[I just came across this art project I did years ago for a sociology class. This poem and collage reflect the self doubt and soul searching most young college kids go through. I was trying to find my way in life and what I believed and where I belonged and if I really had a place in this crazy uncertain world. This is a human experience we all share - the right of passage - leaving childhood walking across the bridge to adulthood. My insight here is so profound and yes at times a bit redundant (I'm not a fan of excessive rhyming verse) but I thought worth posting. I think the reminder that God has made us all unique needs to be heard more.]

I’m one in a million…
BUT I’M STILL ALONE
I’m one in a million…
IN LINE TO THE THRONE
I’m one in a million…
LIVING HOW I SHOULD
I’m one in a million…
FORGETTING THAT I COULD
I’m one in a million…
FEELING PAIN
I’m one in a million…
STRIVING FOR GAIN
I’m one in a million…
REACHING OUT
I’m one in a million…
FORCED TO SHOUT
I’m one in a million…
LAID HEAVE WITH LOAD
I’m one in a million…
WHOSE EMBRACED THE CODE
I’m one in a million…
STRIVING TO PLEASE
I’m one in a million…
WHOSE WANTED TO FREEZE
I’m one in a million…
TRYING TO RESIST
I’m one in a million…
ANGERED WITH FIST
I’m one in a million…
WANTING TO BE
I’m one in a million…
SEARCHING FOR ME
I’m one in a million…
DID YOU HEAR ME SHOUT
I’m one in a million…
BUT I STILL STAND OUT
I-STILL-STAND-OUT
